Tentatively, my goal is to graduate in the Spring, and return to Nevada for one more summer to fight wildfires and stash some financials to allowme to have the freedom to choose where exactly I want to work after school. I am heavily set on staying in New York City for a few years, but also want to explore architecture in other countries and jump around the world working for different firms. I will also have a film/video minor degree, which I think will come in handy as far as moving forward in our more digital world and profession. It also gives me the option to move into architectural design within cinema. I think the most interesting architecture exists in worlds like Christopher Nolans’ filmography, and so on. The freedom to create architecture solely based on the aesthetic of a film and using historical precedents to do so really intrigues me. Bladerunner 2049, and the original, are some of my favorite archi-films. I think I have the ambition and education to succeed at something like this. My name is Grace Brooks and I have chosen architecture as my avenue for making an impact. It is throughMontana State’s program that I have gained an appreciation of design and the impact architects can have on the world around us. I want to be an architect because I want to create places where people can tell their stories. I want to blur the boundary between what already exists and what is yet to be home. I want to make an impact on this world. I want to make an impact in someone else’s life. I want to write my portion of the story of humanity. My name is Makenzie McDaniel, and I am an entering freshman in the Howard R. Hughes College of Engineering at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV). I have always been very passionate about my education, and I hope to pursue a life-long journey of continual learning, starting with a dual major in both civil engineering and architecture. Global warming and climate change are major issues of today’s society. I hope to help reverse the damages on the world, caused by negative human consumption, by creating self-sustainable building designs that are all net-zero, by utilizing green roofs, solar panels, water efficiency, and structurally sound designs. My love of humanity also inspires me to create shelters for everyone in need, world-wide. My dream is to become successful enough that I may be able to donate shelters to veterans, the homeless, and to people in third-world countries, to help improve their quality of life. I also dream of creating charities and scholarships to return the immense generosity provided to me by organizations. Hi my name is Ryan Lew, and I am a Reno High School graduate and also completed the Red House Program, which allowedme to become CTE certified in Graphic Design and 3DAnimation. High school helpedme learn programs like Adobe, CADD, and 3D renderers while also excelling inmy math and science passions. I believe this combination of classes andmy hobbies perfectly ledme to the career path I chose, allowing me to be technical and creative simultaneously. I am extremely excited to be attending California Polytechnic State University to major in architecture andminor in structural engineering. I hope to be a large part of the design process while also learning structural engineering for the sole purpose to learn the realistic limits of my own designs. I am infatuated with skyscrapers but my creative style, I expect, will be in the form of high-end homes; I have a very geometric style that I am confident will be reflected inmy designs and I hope with proper work can perfectly match the “modern” style that has been rising in popularity.
