Their mission is to provide students with the opportunity to develop the knowledge, skills, and attitudes to succeed in today’s society. They emphasize distinguishing yourself as a student, expanding horizons, and opening doors to new opportunities. USAC helps students explore. The programs connect students to the world and expand avenues of knowledge beyond traditional education and experiences. Program and Site Characteristics: The project site is directly across the street from the University of Nevada Reno along its west side, facing N. Virginia Street. This side of the street is experiencing rapid redevelopment as many of the old single family brick homes are deteriorating and being replaced with modern student-based amenities to support the University. USAC purchased this parcel directly across from UNR’s Old Gym where some USAC administrative offices will continue to reside. This sloping site has a residential street to the west (Terrace Drive) and an east-facing front along the primary arterial (N. Virginia Street). USAC requested easy access from both streets, which offered a challenge and an opportunity. ARCHITECT: VanWoert Bigotti Architects CONTRACTOR: United Construction COMPLETION DATE: 2017 HONOR
