47 CORE Construction, a leading national construction management, design-build, and general contracting firm with over 1,200 em- ployees, was founded over 80 years ago and garners an annual revenue in excess of $1.2 billion. Since beginning their Northern Nevada operations in 2010, CORE’s local office has grown to nearly 50 employees, and proudly settled their roots in the community by supporting various local organizations and events. CORE has successfully built a variety of projects in Northern Nevada, including the Douglas County Community and Senior Center, University of Nevada, Reno (UNR) Pennington Student Achievement Center, UNR Great Basin Residence Hall, Starbucks’ largest global distribution center, and the Washoe County School District Sky Ranch and Desert Skies Middle Schools. CORE is currently constructing the UNR Pennington College of Engineering Building and a new Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) for the State Public Works Division located in south Reno. TRAVIS COOMBS VICE PRESIDENT MICHAEL KELLER DIRECTOR OF PRECONSTRUCTION CORE PUBLIC ENGAGEMENT UNR GREAT BASIN HALL WCSD MIDDLE SCHOOLS CORE RENO OFFICE CORE Nevada is pleased to announce the promotion of Travis Coombs to Vice President of their Northern Nevada operations. Coombs will lead business strategy and develop- ment in Northern Nevada, while continuing to cultivate values within the company that have established CORE as a respected local and national builder. Coombs was born and raised in northern Nevada and has called Reno home for almost 20 years. Since entering the construction industry in 2001, he has established trusting relationships with design partners, building partners, and clients alike. Travis joined CORE Construction in 2013 and has served in several departments, from Pre-Con- struction to Construction Operations. His passion for community service and impacting our youth led him to volunteer his time to several organizations and boards, including Junior Achievement, ACE High School, the Eddy House, and the Nevada Chapter of AGC. Michael Keller, relocated from CORE’s Las Vegas office to its Reno office earlier this year to support the firm’s strategic vision for the future. Keller, who was born and raised as a third generation Nevadan, has served both the Northern and Southern Nevada operations for the last several years. With a degree in Civil Engineering, Keller began his career as an engineer before he became an Owner’s Representative, where he served clients and design firms for 10 years prior to joining CORE. During those 10 years, Keller had the opportunity to provide independent cost estimating and on-site Owner’s Representation for dozens of Nevada clients, the federal government, and select Fortune 500 companies. With Construction Manager At Risk and Design-Build deliveries becoming more relevant in the industry, Keller believed his unique insight, having sat on the Owner’s side of the table, would provide great value to a like-minded firm. As a company with a well-defined culture who primarily serves public sector clients within delivery models that could utilize his knowledge and experience to the fullest, CORE Construction was an easy choice for Keller. In his time at CORE, Keller has successfully managed and directed over 50 projects through design and preconstruction stages valued at over $1 billion. CORE Construction has a strong commitment to serve the communities they work in, whether as a builder or a civic-minded business partner. Since coming to North- ern Nevada, CORE has proudly supported organizations like the Eddy House, Dorothy Lemelson STEM Academy, Ronald McDonald House, Northern Nevada Children’s Cancer Foundation, Keep Truckee Meadows Beautiful, STEP 2, Awaken, Boys & Girls Club of Truckee Meadows, Reno Tahoe Young Professionals Network, Fore The Kids, American Cancer Society, Washoe K-12 Education Foundation and UNR Athletics and Student Services. 5330 Reno Corporate Dr. | Reno, NV 89511 775.525.5757 www.coreconstruction.com ALANS AUTO DEALERSHIP - MAGNIN ARCHITECTURE PALMER ENGINEERING - H+K ARCHITECTS
